Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Minimum Wage Poster

Every employer of employees subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act's minimum wage provisions must post, and keep posted, a notice explaining the Act in a conspicuous place in all of their establishments so as to permit employees to readily read it.  The federal minimum wage will increase to $5.85 per hour effective July 24, 2007(with future increases in the following two years).  This is even true of those employers who operate in states where the current state minimum wage is higher than the new federal rate.

The content of the notice is prescribed by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor.  An approved copy of the minimum wage poster is made available for informational purposes or for employers to use as posters.  You can choose between black and white or color versions of the poster available online at:

If you have any FLSA questions, or a specific event that you need guidance on, please contact David Hansen, SPHR, CCP, hansend@hr-onesource.com or Jack Lipovac, SPHR, lipovacj@hr-onesource.com at (515) 221-1718.
